Hyacinth Empinado

Hyacinth Empinado is a Webby-nominated multimedia producer. She was most recently the special projects editor for multimedia at STAT, where she produced videos and podcasts, as well as led grant-funded video projects. One of the projects she's most proud of is a three-part video series called Treating Rural America about the persistent shortage of physicians in rural areas and the solutions that could help stem the crisis. Hyacinth graduated with a degree in health and medical journalism in 2015 from the University of Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new crafts, taking her toddlers on small adventures, and hunting for rainbows.
